Excursion 1 Day In The Ourika Valley

The valley of Ourika, or “Iwrikin” in Berber language, is a magnificent place for a day trip from Marrakech. Only 30 km from the red city, it is a very popular destination among tourists, but also marrakchi, who want to escape the heat and the tumult of the city. We choose to make you visit the Ourika preferably on Mondays, because once a week on that day, a market takes place. All the Berber inhabitants who live around come to buy their goods. They spend the day shopping for the week, then sell different products from home and return at the end of the day. The Berber villages do not have a car or trucks, the inhabitants move on donkeys or mules. After the market, we will enjoy the gardens and nature, and admire the pretty little houses hanging on the side of the mountains. After lunch and a mint tea with the locals, we will again take a short stroll with our guide, before heading back to Marrakech.

Our guide-driver will then take us back to Marrakech and drop us off at our accommodation at 17:30.
