Day 1: Casablanca, Rabat
Our driver will pick you up from Casablanca airport to start your fantastic journey! We will first visit the Great Mosque of Hassan II (except on Fridays as it is the day of prayer for the Muslims) and the superb corniche “Aïn Diab” of the city that borders the sea. After, we will go to Rabat; Capital of Morocco and residence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. We spend the night there in a hotel or Riad.
Day 2: Rabat, Chefchaouen
At 9am, we will visit the Hassan Tower in Rabat, then we will go to Chefchaouen through the Rif Mountains, crossing Wazan and other typical villages. We will spend the night there.
Day 3:Discovering Chefchaouen
We will spend the day visiting the pretty town of Chefchaouen, Tawen the blue pearl of Morocco, and amazing villages at the foot of the Rif mountains. The Medina of Chefchaouen is very quiet, surrounded by craft shops, restaurants and pretty cafés. We will spend the night in a nice typical and pleasant accommodation, from where you can enjoy the splendid view and the beauty of the nature.
Day 4: Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes, Fez
After our breakfast, our journey will continue through the fertile lands of the Kingdoms, towards the mysterious ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis. After exploring this archaeological site, we will go to Meknes, a historical town dating from the 17th century, for lunch break. We will take a tour to see the great walls of the medina, Bab el Mansour, the sanctuary of Moulay Ismail and the prison of Kara. After that, we will head the road to Fez, where we will spend the night.
Day 5: Discovering Fez
After breakfast, we will visit the Royal palace gate, the Mellah which is the first Jewish quarter, as well as all the historical sites of the city, such as the famous University of Al Qarawiyyin, the oldest tanneries, the Attarine museum and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss.After lunch, we will visit co-operatives of porcelain tiles, the famous “zellij”, and discover a magnificent panoramic view over the whole medina of Fes. The evening break will be at a typical accommodation in the medina.
Day 6: Fez, Ifrane, Midelt, Erfoud, Rissani, Merzouga
At 8 o’clock we will leave from Fez towards Moroccan Geneva ifrane, and experience the mountains of the Middle and High Atlas. We will stop at Azrou to see monkeys and the largest cedar forest in the country. Then, our journey will continue to Midelt, along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas, through the fascinating Tizi Ntalghamt and the Ziz Valley known for its palms and oasis. On the road we will see countless Ksars and small Berber villages. We will take breaks for pictures in Rissani, before arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon.we will be welcomed with a mint tea by the inhabitants, before starting the camel ride for the sunset .the evening break will be in a bivouac at the desert, under a nomad tent to the sound of Berber music and starry sky.
Day 7: Merzouga, Erg Chebbi and surroundings
In the early morning, we will start the camel ride to welcome the unforgettable sunrise.Afterwards, we will go to the hostel for breakfast and refresh ourselves, before heading back to the Moroccan countryside where we will meet the locals and have lunch with them. In the afternoon, we will be back to our accommodation to rest and spend the night.
Day 8: Todgha Gorges, Dades and roses valley, Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we will drive to Todgha Gorges, where we will have lunch via the towns of Erfoud Tinjdad. We will visit the fabulous Canyons, gardens and rivers. We will continue towards Dades and its magical mountains, through the road of 1000 kasbahs, towards the town of Kaala M’gouna; Famous for its annual roses festival in May. A visit to a typical Kasbah of Amridil in Skoura oasis just before the evening break at Ouarzazate for the night.
Day 9: Ouarzazate,High Atlas Mountains,Marrakech.
We will start the morning discovering the mythical studios of cinema ”Alas studios”, Visit the Moroccan South Pearl, the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified Kasbah which is part of UNESCO’s heritage site ,where numerous films have been shooted, such as “Gladiator” “ Laurence of Arabia” “Asterix & Obelix”. We will then go to the kasbah to meet the Berber inhabitants to share a mint tea and talk about the legend of the kasbah. On the way back to Marrakech, we will drive via the Tichka Pass which culminates at 2260 m altitude above the sea level with typical villages hanging on the mountains. After lunch, there is time to enjoy and discover the Zat valley before driving to our hotel or riad at Marrakech.
Day 10: Marrakech, Essaouira.
After breakfast, we will go to Essaouira, through valleys filled with orange trees, ancient olive trees and farms. After a short time, we will arrive in Chichaoua, where you can have a coffee or mint tea. Once rested, we will continue and we will be able to see the first argan trees, and perhaps the goats climbing to eat the argan nuts. The extracted oil is renowned for its nutritional, cosmetic and medicinal properties. The tree, a relict species of the tertiary age, is extremely well suited to drought and other environmentally difficult conditions in southwestern Morocco, and because they are now in the process of disappearing, they are under the protection of UNESCO.In the afternoon, we arrive in Essaouira, where you will have the opportunity to stroll through the ancient streets, and appreciate the authentic Portuguese influence of this port city of the 16th century. There we can dine in a restaurant with a view of the sea and enjoy fresh delicious fish and maybe even take a dromedary ride on the beach before joining your Riad in the medina for the night.
Day 11: Essaouira, Marrakech
After breakfast, we will return to Marrakech. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit the argan oil cooperatives, and see the women extracting oil in a traditional way, an oil renowned for its culinary, cosmetic and medicinal properties. After several stops to take pictures, you will continue your journey towards Marrakech, then make your check-in in your Riad. After dinner, you will enjoy strolling in the famous Jemaa El Fna square, animated by magicians, storytellers, musicians and snake charmers.
Day 12: Discovering the medina of Marrakech
We will spend the day visiting the beautiful sites and historical monuments of the ocher city, such as the Jamaa El Fna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its many activities and folklore; The Koutoubia mosque; The legendary palace Bahia; The magnificent gardens of Majorelle; The Saadian tombs; The former Koranic school, the Madrasa of Ben Youssef; And of course many souks, where our guide will accompany us in order to negotiate the best rates. Meanwhile, our guide will take us to taste the local specialties, as one of the many delicious tajines in a typical restaurant for lunch. During the day, we will have the chance to discover the history of Marrakech and its wonders, and why not, we may desire to bring back some souvenirs of local crafts, such as spices, embroidered slippers or pretty sculpted objects.
Day 13: free day in Marrakech
Today you will be alone to take a leisurely stroll, take cooking classes, go for a hammam, enjoy the beautiful red city pools, or dine in one of the many restaurants. The team of MARRAKECH DREAM will be happy to help you organize your activities. Day 14: Transfer to the airport
We will take you back to Marrakech airport, thanking you and hoping that you have spent a pleasant and unforgettable journey, and that you will return home with memories and pictures full of heads!
