First day: High Atlas Mountains, Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, and Ouarzazate.
At 8 am, your guide will pick you up from your Riad, then it will be the departure for an unforgettable journey! In a few minutes we will leave Marrakech and start discovering the olive trees and cactus of the old caravan route. After 1 hour driving, we will arrive at a small Berber paradise located at the heart of the High Atlas Mountains; the Zat valley. After a one hour break to enjoy the wadi and the small villages hanging on the mountain and the fig trees, we will continue the road. With the inhabitants, you shall sip a delicious mint tea, before passing the Tichka pass, over 2260 m above sea level. It will be an opportunity to stop and take pictures of the beautiful landscapes.A side road will take us to the valley of Ounila, and then a stop for a delicious traditional lunch at Ksar Ait Ben Haddou. This 1000-years-old fortified village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located along the ancient caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in the province of Ouarzazate. Then, your guide will take you on a tour of the Kasbah to drink a mint tea with the villagers, before going to visit the legendary film studios of Ouarzazate, where many famous films have been shooted, such as “Laurence of Arabia “,” Gladiator “or” Asterix and Obelix “ . After a short ride in the Kasbah of Taourirt, we will pass through the rose’s valley and the 1000 Kasbahs road with thousands of palms stretching as far as the eye can see at Skoura. An evening break will be at the Dades gorges for the first night.
Second day: Dades Valley, Todgha Gorge, Ziz Valley,Erg Chebbi dunes Merzouga
After breakfast at a nice typical hotel of the region, we will head the road at 8 am with our driver for a 30 mn walk to the gorges of Todgha in order to make very nice pictures of the places and have a good Moroccan lunch. The ecology of the place will arise the exact feeling of taking us back millions of years ago and to watch the fossils found by residents of Erfoud. After several stops to visit the Ziz valley, the fabulous black desert, and especially the breathtaking caves with their underground river 60 km long, we will arrive on the highest dunes of Morocco from the authentic desert of Erg Chebbi dunes. There, a camel leader will be waiting for us to enjoy an exceptional dromedary ride, while admiring the sunset on the dunes. After drinking a cup of sahara tea at the bivouac where music and folklore will charm us, and after a typical delicious dinner, we will spend a magical night under an authentic Berber tent, admiring the starry sky.
Third day: Tazarine, Draa Valley, Black Canyon, Ouarzazate
After waking up to sunrise and enjoying your breakfast, we will return to our camel’s back to our accommodation to refresh ourselves, then we will dive back to Ouarzazate by a different way. We will pass by Alnif and Tazarine, famous for its delicious cumin and for its henna tattoos, and we will make a stop for a traditional lunch at the oasis of 45. We will go after seeing the longest valley of Morocco, the Draa Valley, known for its many oases and palm trees. After visiting the palm grove with your guide driver, you will take a walk to explore the heart of the Atlas and the Black Canyon. A few stops to cool off, drink a mint tea and take pictures later, we will arrive at Ouarzazate to spend the night in a small hotel or a Riad.
4th day: Ounila Valley, Ta louet Kasbah, Atlas Mountains.
We will get up around 10am, as you may be a little tired by your trip the day before. We will return to Marrakech the first 100 km by different roads, so that you can explore all the pretty corners of the southern region, such as the beautiful Ounila valley, the small Berber villages, landscapes and the Kasbah of El Glaoui, Former Pasha of Marrakech. After lunch, we will pass through the High Atlas Mountains, where we will take a break to drink a mint tea and take some pictures, before dropping you off at your accommodation in Marrakesh.
