Marrakech to ZAGORA This tour is perfect for people who do not have much time, but still want to discover the desert and enjoy a camel ride, sunset over the dunes and a night under the stars in Nomad tent.
1st day: Marrakech to Zagora
Your guide will come to meet you at your hotel or Riad , and your discovery day of the High Atlas mountains will begin! After a few stops to explore the magnificent landscapes, admire the view of the Zat valley, and enjoy the old caravan road and small Berber villages, you can stop for a refreshing mint tea at the top of the mountain before crossing the Tichka Pass, which is more than 2260 meters above sea level. A typical lunch will be at Ouarzazate .After around 40mn, we will take a break to see the Black Canyon at the heart of the Anti-atlas Mountains, and then we arrive in Agadez which means “souk” in Berber language. Then, a half hour tour in the middle of the enormous palm trees of the Draa Valley; the longest river in Morocco , before arriving in Zagora, where your camel driver will be waiting for you to start a dromedary ride through the desert. You will spend the night in a Berber camp under a typical tent, hearing the sound of local music, after having enjoyed a traditional dinner of the region.
2nd day: Zagora to Marrakech
Your camel leader will take you on a walk at sunrise, before bringing you back to the camp for breakfast. After another dromedary ride, our driver will be waiting for us to drive us back to Marrakech. On the way, we will make a stop to visit the famous film studios of Ouarzazate, where many famous films have been shooted, such as “Laurence of Arabia” “Gladiator”. You can also see the most beautiful Kasbah of Morocco, Aït Benhaddou which is part of the UNESCO heritage site. After lunch, the road continue to Marrakech, where you will be able to stop at panoramas for photos. Our driver will drop us off at your hotel or Riad by the end of the afternoon.
